Onboarding
The five-step wizard to name your page, set branding, configure fields, preview, and go live.
When you first log in, SupportPage walks you through a short wizard to create your first support page. You can revisit most settings later from Support page settings, but completing onboarding gets you to a publishable form quickly.
The wizard has five steps: name and slug, brand, fields, preview, and a final review.
Step 1 — Name and slug
Define how your support page is identified inside SupportPage and in its default URL.
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Page name | Internal and customer-facing title (for example, "Acme Support"). Shown in the browser tab and page header unless overridden in branding. |
| Slug | The path segment in your default SupportPage URL: https://your-slug.support-page.dev. Slugs must be unique, lowercase, and URL-safe. |
Choose a slug that is easy to share and hard to guess if you are not using a custom domain yet. You can add a custom domain later without changing the slug.
The default slug URL is permanent for that page. Pick something you are comfortable putting in emails and footers.
Step 2 — Brand
Set the visual identity customers see on your public form.
- Logo — upload a square or horizontal logo (PNG, SVG, or JPG). Displayed in the page header.
- Primary color — applied to buttons, links, and accents.
- Secondary color — applied to borders and other accents.
- Background — light or dark base, depending on your brand guidelines.
Changes here map to Branding settings after onboarding. Fine-tune typography and layout from the dashboard when you need more control.
Step 3 — Fields
Configure what customers must (or can) submit. The wizard starts with sensible defaults:
| Default field | Typical use |
|---|---|
| First Name | First name of the person who is contacting you |
| Required for replies and status links | |
| Subject | Short summary of the issue |
| Message | Full description |
You can add custom fields (dropdown, checkbox, text area, and more), mark fields required or optional, and reorder them. Field configuration is shared with Form fields in settings.
Email is effectively required for customer follow-up. This field is essential for SupportPage to work.
Step 4 — Preview
Review the live look of your support page before it accepts public traffic.
- Scroll through the form as a customer would see it.
- Open the preview in a new tab to check mobile layout.
Adjust branding or fields using Back without losing earlier progress.
Step 5 — All set
The final step confirms your page is ready.
- Copy link — share the URL with teammates or embed it in your app.
- CNAME record – if you desire using a custom domain, some helpful text is provided on how to create a custom CNAME record to point to your new SupportPage form.
- Go to Dashboard — jump straight to the dashboard.
If you are on a trial or new subscription, confirm billing is active so the page stays online after the trial ends.
